In 2011, the Danish Medicines Agency was made aware of more than 40 sibutramine-containing products sold on the internet.
It is not declared on the packages that sibutramine is contained in the products.
Previously, sibutramine was authorised for the treatment of obesity, but it has a number of serious side effects, and all authorised sibutramine-containing medicines were withdrawn from the market in 2010.
